6950/Green dots in Windows (artifacts?)

Your Psu is more than enough. Mine was dying it was making a horrid buzzing noise and I was getting a lot of freezes and crashes and the green dots and curruption in game. The Psu completely died and when I replaced it all the symptoms were gone and everything is running lovely. My card is unlocked and clocked to 900/1400. Although I feel the unlocking is massivly overated and people spend two much time worrying about this very minimal gain. But its free so why not.....
My thoughts too. Infact Ive flashed to my original bios. But out of interest is there anyway to make the bios default by itself (i.e. without having to flash with a backed up bios - since thats what I used to flash back to my original bios).
Well been using the rig for about a hour so far and I cant see the artifacts. Who knows, perhaps its a burn in thing? Maybe I will unplug and reseat the card at some point in the future.
how can you play 3D games with ati card ? i thought it was only poss with nvidia cards & glasses !!
i have 3D monitor & i was hoping i could use ati card to play crisis 2 in 3D.
I just changed the Psu but my Psu was dead and was dying for a few days so it could have just been that..
Power off flick switch and power on to load the default bios.
You need to power down flick the switch then re-boot..
There is something about 3D gaming on the Box of my Asus 6950 but I have as much interest in fake 3D as playing cricket so I did not pay much attention...
Lol sorry what I meant was I can play games in generally with no problem (i.e. not 3D type games which use glasses etc).
So basically. Power down PC, flick switch to position 1. Load up PC.
Power down PC, flick switch to position 2. Load up PC. Done?
If you just want the original bios, power down and flick the switch to position 2 this is the locked un-flashable back up bios.
You can then make a backup of this bios, and flash it to position 1 to recover your bios to stock default.

So Im in two minds about this green artifact stuff. I havent seen anything further yesterday or earlier today. Will use the rig tonight and see how it goes.

Hmm! I have been told that this anomaly can be associated with poor DVI cabling. But I am not sure! Can you get some quality DVI cabling? My cable is quite thin in diameter.
Not sure mate but I imagine you get what you pay for. I am using the DVI cables that came with my Iiyamas. Cheap maybe?

But sometimes I need to switch monitor off and on again, and hey presto, they're gone? Weird!
24" 1920 x 1200. Would it support dual link?
Also, I never noticed this green artifact issue using my crossfire 5770s, would that indicate that the GFX card could be the culprit? Or perhaps its just more susceptible to EMI?

I really cannot see this being a problem with cables as quite a few people are having the same issues. This would mean quite a few different cables being used. Mine also did it when connected using HDMi if that makes any difference I have no idea.
It does seem like some kind of interference that could be causing the green spots but this is more than likely going to be on the board and produced by the card rather than the cable. It could be that something is creating the interference and it is being transmitted throught the DVi/HDMi connection's on the board. ?
The weird thing is that lots of people have said that the green spots have gone away after using the card for a while, Mine has not had any issues in over a week now since getting the spots. I have replaced my PSU but I imagine this was coincedence that the card was fine after.
I would say anyone having this issue should give it a week of use and see if the spots go away before going down the RMA route and getting the card back NFF with a host of charges.
