Hi all im stuck and cant decide which of the 2 69xx cards to buy, I only use 1 monitor 1900x1200 current card 4870 1gb and game wise its WoW, medal if Honour and fallout new vegas. I am thinking if I pick up a 6950 and then later on in the year when I upgrade could pick up another 1 and xfire them but as I said not sure what to do.

There is only 10-15% performance difference between the two and £60 in price.

You should be able to squeeze around the same overclocks from both cards and the performance difference shouldn't be larger than 10% (in fact the 6970 is clocked 10% faster than the 6950 so you should be able to make it < 7% or so).

I have HD4870 in Xfire and i have gone for one 6970 now then much later buy another for Xfire.
It's very hard deciding what to purchase when you have limited funds "children and all that" ;) but after asking a few questions on this great forum i just feel thats the right choice for me.

2 X 6950 looks amazing though
I downloaded 10:12 for my 4870's and in Black ops it seems to be very very smooth ?

I did the samething, nearly went for 6950 in xfire as do with my 4870 but I thought get a single 6970 now and xfire later. Work out better in the long run
