As ive been reading more and more about all these latest 6950s not been flashable is it just worth bitting the bullet and spending a few ££ more and getting a 6970? Is there still a 6950 out there on the shelves that will still flash, or is it a bit like a lucky dip, you might get one, you might not?

I would just get the latest 6950 and overclock,i have a 6950 (shader unlocked only)and to be honest there really isnt that much performance increase.

i dont think the 6970 is worth the extra.

the 6950 stock handles everything ive thrown at it with excellent results.

From what I've seen most 6950s overclock well enough to put them within a couple of % or so of an overclocked 6970 so even without flashing it doesn't really make much sense to buy a 6970.

Cheers, i was checking out that twin frozer on here for £199, as thats what i had my eyes on. As its factory overclocked the speeds are not that far off a 6970 anyway, so i little overclock of that and it will be the same looking at it.

I thought the same, maybe the earlier frozr editions might of been, but probably not the latest. But shouldnt be a problem to oclock it to 6970 speeds, (iw ill have a read of that thread) doubt id even bother as its not far of it anyway. Seems a great card for the price. As long as nothing crops up between now and thursday then thats what i will go for, unless someone points out something different. ;)

Bah, i dont get paid till thursday. But wont it just go back up to its price of £205, i can live with paying the extra fiver i suppose. Who knows, it might even come down a price like the agility 3s have, down to £95 now.

Who knows with OcUK.

The prices of their 6950's are bouncing around all over the place.

The price on that card has gone:

£224.99 to
£209.99 to
£179.99 to
£205.99

in a short space of time.

It could be anything next Wednesday.

Sometimes they even increase the price on the offers before the week is out.

If you pay by credit card OcUK take the money straight away but you wouldn't have to worry about paying for it until the bill came.

The agilty started at £105. That's £10!

The agility also has competition from similar ssds at £95.

The 6950 twin frozr III would be my choice, even if it doesn't flash.
