Hi guys, When I ordered my 6950 a year ago the temperatures were idling at say 41 and under load probably 73 max.

Just ran Heaven Benchmark 83 Max and 50 Idle - I thought I'd stick my fan speed up to 100 percent didn't really make any difference.

Any thoughts or does my card need to be RMA'd ?

I wouldn't say your having any overheating problems.

I'm idling at 43c. I just ran FurMark for a while and reached 85c with fans on auto (37%), turned fans up to 100% and temps only went down to 79c.

Does seem a little high but anything upto about 85c is absolutely fine. True - not ideal but you're not going to run into any problems.

Check your input areas for cack on your case just to make sure they're clean and the fans are blowing properly.

wonder why everyones getting a load temp of around 85c on the 6950
the most iv ever hit is 55c  i thought it was only the msi cards that went that high

I can only imagine getting them temps using water cooling .

I just checked my GPU temps now and I'm now idling at 58c. I'm going to put the blame on the high ambient room temperature from closed windows and 2 computers running.

It's amazing to think your load temperatures are lower than my idle temperatures.

Ambient temps are not going to be 30 degrees higher.

You should get idle temps in the 30s with a 2 fan and/or 3 slot cooler.

My HIS 6950 ice Q X plus idles @ 48 running 2 monitors, load temps only ever seen 67 max playing metro, BF3 on an overclocked card. Seems strange the OPs card has jumped 10c:confused:

Edit:just saw the post about the radiator :)
