6950 temps

So i edited my 6950 bios to unlock just the shaders kept the clocks etc everything is peachy 38 degrees idle, so now i decide to oc it up to a 6970's stock clocks everything is fine in games im getting 68 degrees max temp with fan at 34%.
Ploblem is... when im just sitting at the desktop no programmes or anything im getting idle temps of 52 even though the gpu is downclocking itself into 2d mode.
So pretty much my load temps havent changed much atall once i oc'd but my idles have changed by around 10degrees or so? :L

nope ive kept the voltage at 6950 stock as its not really needed any higher unless i go over 890ish on the clock

wierd seems the gpu wasnt actually downclocking itself although it was showing it had in amd overdrive but not in afterburner, ohwel fixed now.

Use AB Beta 7. It works well with PowerPlay.

Whats the difference between that version and the one i downloaded off the afterburner site? that's useful to me at least

PowerPlay works as it should when unofficialoverclocking is enabled. You no longer need to hit the reset button after a 3d session to restore 2d clocks.
