thinking of upgrading my crossfire 5850 for something like 6950 or 6970 for bf3
my qusetion is the 6970 is like 70-100 pounds more then 6950 but dont look like it that much faster so is it worth the 100 pounds more?
why 5850 x-fire is much faster than a single 6950/6970 now if your thinking of x-firing a 69** series then thats a different story
do you think? 2 5850 are 1gb each and 1 6950 is 2gb aswell and they say i can play bf3 on max setting with a 2gb card but not a 1gb card.
with out runing 3d mark 11 on 6950 i will never know as i get about 6000 on a crossfire 5850.
i5 (1155)overclock to 4.4ghz, 4gb of ram. can get over 8000 if i overclock the 5850s
I also think too many people are jumping on the band wagon for BF3 i would wait till final release before changing up ur g-cards
not sure what gpu score is i run it later and tell you,it just the basic edition res was at 1280 x 720 (720p)
looking at my ati settings it says 1080p

I think it's because the game has been hyped up so much that people feel running the game in anything less than high or ultra is a sin.
The 6970 isn't worth the extra over the 6950 in my opinion. I'm awaiting my 2nd 6950 to arrive today for some crossfire BF3 goodness![]()

you will be well happy with it too![]()
