6950 - Which card?

I dont know if i should get the powercolour version or the HIS ICEQ Turbo, I will be flashing it to a 6970 and upping the clocks. They are both £198 from my local PC store.

Which version in everyoness experience runs coolest and clocks the best?

I'm not sure whether either can be flashed tbh, although don't quote me on that. I'm sure somebody will be along shortly to clarify.

I would get the HIS ICEQ version.

The cooler on it is amazing!

My 2nd powercolor turned up today, both successfully unlocked shaders, fans are a little on the noisy side but i game with a headset so not a problem for me.
Powercolor has the benifit of dual bios switch.

Unsure on the sucess rate of the HIS unlocking.

I used the rbe method it only took a minute to do

Unlocking as well as overclocking varies from card to card even with the exact same model / manufacturer. My MSI 6950 unlocked and is running at 6970 speeds. It is completely stable at full load and the max temp it hits is 60c.

AHHH Still confused,

There looks like only one fan on the HIS but 2 on the powercolours?!

And im encouraged that you have flashed both of yours,

More swaying towards powercolour,

GUY with HIS what temps you getting?

Even in xfire top card is staying below 62
Like i say though the only down on the powercolor is the noise of the fans.

My experience is the same the overclocking produces the performance gain.
