6950 xfire upgrade

I went from 6970 xfire to 7970 and the only real difference i saw was my bank account shrinking, for 1080p i would stick with what you have

No gameplay is fine to be honest no problems with crossfire or anything, oh well will keep what i have and maybe change to i5 2500k
thanks

I pondered the GTX 680 last week, but decided that my Crossfire 6950s (unlocked and clocked to 6970) were easily good enough.

Sure they might be bottlenecking my i7-3820 @ 4.75GHz, but even if they are, it won't be by much.

I have managed to unlock both cards and they are running @ 900 /1300 temps are good with full cover waterblocks, the only reason i was thinking of upgrade/change was a friend is after both my cards. Looking at benchmarks seems a cpu upgrade would be more practical.

It would indeed, infact changing to a decent intel platform would be a far better use of your cash.

Is that all your cards can do? Mine are sat at 930/1400 on the stock refernce coolers!

May have a play around with voltage and try a bit higher clocks. It is no problem @ 915 in mw3 but crashes within 5 min of bf3 at anything over the 900 even 905 black screen then reboots !!! Pita :(

Have upped voltage a little bit got them stable @930/1400, bf3 for an hour no crash :) ,cards dont go over 47' with fans on low. Will leave them at that.
Thanks paradigm ;)
