6950s in xfire

hi guys, was thinking about xfire my mobo however has 1x pcie@16 lanes and 1x pcie@4 lanes, how will this affect xfire, is it worth going xfire or just get a single gtx 570?

i currently have an i3 2100 may upgrade to i5 2500k this month with gfx card/s and 8gb ddr3 1600. i game @ 1080p and mobo is an Asus P8P67 LE Intel P67 thanks in advance for repies

so looking at the artice it will still be significantly better than one card or do i have that wrong?
