6970 eyefinity problem

Just wondering if anyone is running eyefinity from one of the new 6xxx cards.

I just upgraded from a 5870 eyefinity setup to a 6970 and can't get things running.

Have been running 3x24" monitors without any problems on the 5870. I had one DVI, one VGA>DVI via adapter and one VGA>DP via active adapter.
Since the 6970 has mini DP I bought one of the adapters from OCUK which works fine on the DVI monitor.
The problem is connecting the other 2 monitors. Unfortunately these are VGA only and I have them connected to the 2 DVI ports via DVI>VGA adapters. There is a signal on one but not on the other. The lower port does not seem to output a signal this way. The port works with a direct DVI connection.
I can't understand why the 2 DVI outputs will not run the 2 VGA monitors via adapters.

Any help really appreciated guys.

I bought this one from the site which appears to be single link.
I did try out both the VGA adapter monitors on this and neither worked as you said.
Bit of an odd decision not to make both DVI ports support adapters!!

I was using a DP to VGA adapter for one of the monitors.
Could I plug this into a mini DP to DP?

Do your monitors only support VGA?

Unfortunately when I setup my eyefinity I couldn't source 2 more identical monitors. The ones I ended up with used the same panel but were VGA only.

Had a look around for mini DP to dual active DVI and they are pretty expensive. The cheapest actually seems to be the Apple one!!
Don't think I'll be forking out another £60+ after spending a load on this card + adapter + new PSU. Might be DSR return time!

Just out of curiosity - I see you are running x-fire. Does that allow you to use the dual link on the 2nd card or does that card just run as a slave?
