I have a Thermaltake Toughpower 850W W0131RE power supply and a XFX Radeon 6970. The 6970 needs 1 PCI-e 6 pin and 1 PCI-e 8 pin connector, however the power supply I have only has 6pin connectors.
Is it possible to get a converter for 6pin to 8pin (and if so will I run into any troubles), I'd be disappointed to have to get a new power supply as this one is pretty solid and certainly not ready to be relegated to the media server build just yet.
If all hope is lost, can anyone suggest a power supply that would be suitable? I'm currently running the i7 2600k, Asus P8P67 Pro, 2x4Gb Corsair Vengeance, and 1x6970 (planning for Crossfire later in life)
