6970 vs 5870 slide

Memory bandwidth won't make that much difference to performance, 160GB/s is more than enough to cover any bottleneck concerns.

Sweet, does your source state how long the card will be? I'm going to cancel my 580 order (doesn't look like it'll be in stock for a good while now anyway), but the final hurdle is the size of the 6970.

Hard to say for sure due to the low quality of the image but as I said before I think its been photoshopped, theres some smudging around some of the numbers that weren't filled in in the earlier version of that slide and the 0 on the 30 doesn't match the orientation of the other 0s compared to the number on their left.

Looks like a Photoshop job. The date on the bottom of the slide has been blurred out by the very high contrast. Looks like the slides from October with a few numbers photoshopped in.

That's Morphological AntiAliasing's work :p

yeah , THIS is page 72.

yup, its very possible newer versions of that slide have hit, but most of the ones we've seen do appear to be fake with odd fonts/number sizes.

If memory speed goes up from, 1200Mhz to 1500Mhz then we'd get a pretty big jump, question is, are the newer faster memory chips available yet. I did wonder if waiting on the newer gddr5 was a reason for any delay, its happened before with gddr4 and gddr5 dictating the release dates of AMD products in the past.

Though I also suspect we won't see a massive speed increase, doubling the density of the chips to 256mb per chip probably isn't going to allow a good bump in speed, probably see the existing 128mb chips get faster versions first so it might not be possible for a 2gb card.

Simd number doesn't help either, unless we know for sure it was staying at 80 shaders per simd, but with a change from 5 way shaders to 4 way, its very unlikely to stay at 80 shaders per simd, possible, but unlikely.

the fake one showed up about the same time as the other 20 or so slides taken by camera
and you can clearly see that some of the numbers are disproportionate on the fake, as well as some weird color differences just next to the numbers.

and the fact that there just happens a big black area at exactly the same place as where the guy's head pops in on the other picture.
