Would it be possible to get a closed loop AIO type system for my 6970. Would I have to mod something like a Corsair H70? Is this possible?

Having only ever worked with a Swiftec years ago, I'm not to familiar with closed loops.

The reason being, when I overclock my 6970 the fan at 50%> is unberable. My friend recently got the Asus 6950 and it has the dual fan design and is half the noise of mine at 50% fan speed. Quite annoying!

I remember CoolIT announcing something along these lines a year or two ago, but I don't think anything came out of it. Some one at Corsair modded a H70 on a GTX 480 and posted results on their blog.

If you want to cool your 6970 a full cover block is the best option IMO.

Might want to check out the new Watercooling forum as well: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=133

Fit an aftermarket cooler. There are several to choose from and will be cheaper than water-cooling.

Scythe setsugen
Arctic Accelero xtreme plus 2
Thermalright Shaman
Gelid Icy something.
Etc.
