Not if the cpu is overclocked past 4.0+ghz ideal 4.2ghz

Deffo this...try and get a cheap Q6600 if you plan on BF3.

cheers im looking to upgrade the cpu and motherboard its my daughters pc then saw a 6970 as shes got a 5850 at moment just didnt want to buy complete new system in one go

save some cash on other things, all you need is a 6950 instead of a 6970 and oc the 6950
