Hi
Finally upgraded my PSU, everything working but when playing BF2 Bad company, I am getting screen flicker....any ideas? Is this a hardware problem?
This doesn't happen with with FIFA12????

Could it be my Rampage 2 mobo?

Crossfire issue? Have you enabled Crossfire?

That sounds to me like the issue I had on my quad sli rig with BF3. Make sure the game is updated, check Crossfire is enabled, lower the post processing.

Uh oh.

Where did you get the card? new?

Has the Antilles switch been thrown? 'cos if it has you're Donald Ducked.

Ah. Christ mate you gave me a bloody heart attack there !!

Were you running an Nvidia card before? if so then a complete Windows reinstall may be required.

Hi
Ok full reinstall done. I have download the latest catalyst and drivers but I still can't see where I can enable xfire. Is it a seperate app? I can't find on the catalyst interface

Does the 6990 need it enabling?

Maybe the drivers pick it up as a 6990 and do it all?

Run Vantage mate. It's free, and you will soon find out per the result if Crossfire is scaling :) Or even better 3dM11. I can tell you that my 6970 scores 6000 points in performance mode. That's free also.

The driver should enable crossfire automatically, remember crossfire only works in fullscreen. If it's an xfx card they cover you for using the second bios.

That's good of them tbh. I mean how dumb is it to put something on a GPU and then say "If you use it you don't get a warranty !".

Tis a cack increase any way, something like 40mhz isn't it?

It's not huge, 830mhz to 880mhz but as i have found out the second bios is good for 1000mhz + at stock voltage (1.175v) due to the binned chips the 6990 uses. It ups power usage from around 375w to around 450w.

Ignore Windows Index it's pants.

Gives my SSD a 5.8 even though it reads at 240mbps and 90 write. Which is the max speeds the specs say.

Then I retest and it gives 7.1, before dropping back to 5.8 again when I run it again straight after lol.

hi mate
if you go to the bottom right of the screen theres an icon that says "color32 bpp" when you hover over it.... right click it and go up to 1.amd radeon hd6990 series then crossfire settings and show crossfire settings...this will show you when running games if your using crossfire or not.:)
as jeffyb says also the 6990 can go up to 1000mhz:) mine does
