maybe it is to make shelf space for these new x2 cards, looking at the size of them, the shelf will need strengthening!

They seem to be in short supply everywhere...

supply shortage in the chain.

They were limited edition runs I would imagine because they don't actually sell that well.

nvidia's were pulled due to their bug causing voltage regulator circuits to go pop on the 590.

That is being fixed with a new board design but that will be a limited run again I would think.
