69xx when?

Given that the next card down, the 6870 is a fair bit more expensive than the 5770 was to the 5870, I've no doubt that that the 6950 and 6970 will be more expensive than the 5850 and 5870. At least £350 for the 6970 but closer to £400 I suspect.

Lots cheaper than when the 5970 came out then :p

Yeilds will be well up from 5000 cards and a pair 6850's will more than likely be sub £250 at the time of the 6970 launch. That alone puts a limit on the price of sud £300, not to mention ATI will want to shift as many as possible as they can make them by the truck load.

Then you have to look at what Nvidia are doing, and with a pair of 470's for £350, the HD6970 would have to be something really special to be priced anything even close to £350.

IMO, the cards would have to be uber fast, or extreamly rare to see prices much above the 5000 cards RRPs.

6950 going to be £299, 6970 going to be £349 and 6990 going to be £499

all prices above include vat.

:D

I think the various OMG WTF editions will fit up the 200 to 300 price point.
