6gb memory only 4gb detected at times.

So i tried memtest for about 8 hours and I have 0 errors so I'm assuming the RAM's fine.

I've loosened the waterblock by a lot and it hasn't really helped. Might try reseating once I get new thermal paste. I hope its not a faulty board, fitted it with waterblocks so the warranty's gone. :(

was it showing as 6gb during memtest.

did you actually try booting up 1 stick at a time

even if you can't rma them if you find the faulty stick just ditch the faulty one and work in dual channel

Yes to the last 2 posts.

Bit of an update I bought new RAM and it I can't reproduce the problem on this new set. (Corsair dominator 2000mhz). So all is fine i guess :) Thanks to everyone that tried to help.

Oddly enough the OCZ gold sticks worked perfectly for 2 weeks or so on a friends UD7 board. I guess I'll leave it to compatibility issues :s

Ive had the exact same problem on a Gigabyte-X58-USB3 with Corsair XMS3, had to RMA the CPU, Motherboard and memory as just cant get to work. Get a message saying "Recovering lost DRAM size" on bios F1 and then on bios F2 with 3 sticks of memory just get a hell of a lot of bleeping from the motherborad speaker and will only boot with 2 sticks of ram.

I never got any of those error messages and all the sticks would boot individually or together. Just every now and then windows would only detect 4gb out of 6.
