Why 2 molex connectors?

I assume you are supposed to connect each molex to a different molex lead o/p rather than 2 molexes on the same lead?

youshould find you have 1 male and 1 female molex connector 1 end goes on an existing molex (female ) leaaving you with 1 male connector to replace the one you have connected to.

Ah, that's the thing.

Both connectors are male, so it's not a simple "pass through" lead.

The 6 pin PCI-E power plug has two 12V rails. There is only one 12V rail per molex plug, hence the need for two molex plugs

But what if you connect it to the other molex connector on the same lead??

That's what i've done, no problems here, does seem weird

You're still getting 2 x 12v inputs.
