6th gen small motherboard please?

Hey guys, this is a bit of an odd one, but I'm looking for a Micro ATX, or a mini ITX motherboard that would work with an i7 6700k + GTX 960 combo. They are from an old computer that I can't be bothered selling for parts, but they are sitting in a huge case. So I figured I'll pick up a small form MB and transplant it all into a tiny case to keep as a spare machine, or give to a family member if they can use it.

Ideally I'd like the case to be new(if that's even still a thing) and as cheap as possible, but I don't want some dodgy no name brand either. I found a case that will work for 15 quid, so that leaves more spare for the MB if needed.

All the naming for the older generations is really confusing to me so that's why I'm struggling to figure this one out. Hope you can help me.

For 6th gen CPUs you need:
H110
B150
Z170/H170

OR
B250
Z270

The 2x0 were for 7th gen, but they still work with 6th gen.

Thank you, so will any of these work with this CPU? Is there no Intel/AMD version sockets like with the most recent ones?

Yep, they shouldn't need a bios update or anything like that.


Are you referring to B360 (Intel) and B350 (AMD)? If so, then no, the chipsets I listed should only be available for Intel CPUs (socket 1151v1, to be exact).
