Has anyone had any experience with this?

A client is looking for a rig capable of stitching 6x (possibly more in the future) 4K GoPro videos (rigged for 360 capture). Most decent NVIDIA gpus will do this these days but I'm finding it hard to get accurate hardware recommendations for 4K footage.

The software we've been looking at is video-stitch and their recommendations are often pitched at cost saving (minimum spec required etc)

So far I'm looking at 1-2x Xeons (8 cores) but unsure whether there's a need for Quadro cards or if a couple of 980Tis will do the job (massive price difference in the higher VRAM quadros)

Not sure how accurate my recommendation will be, but a lot of Youtubes are making 360/4K videos as they test them, might be worth seeing what they're using as some do tutorials as well, it's quite a niche area at the moment AFAIK.

However, aren't camera's available where it stitches it all together for you once the video has been finished, rather than having to manually stitch together 6 separate streams?

What software would you be using to stitch them together?

check what software is being used adobe doesn't support any of the 900 series cards for gpu acceleration without a little hack in the files

The software they're looking at is VideoStitch Studio - http://www.video-stitch.com/studio/

Seems to support all NVIDIA cards but as I said there's limited documentation around stitching multiple 4K footage (loads around 1080p).
