story, I was driving home about an hour ago and noticed a newly erected 7.5t weight limit sign near my house, this caused me some concern as for the past 4-5years i've kept my american 5th wheel in my back yard (like every normal caravan owner)

However my truck alone weighs nearly 5 tonnes, nearer 12 with the 5th wheel.

Im sat in manc airport atm trying to google answers but struggling to find anything, does anyone know where i stand here?

Is this limit for commercial use only? or am i buggered? lol

cheers

p.s ive seen artic's up and down this road up until recently so in know they used it before.

The limit will most likely be "7.5T Unless for access" - The access bit is the critical part.

Is there a bridge on that road? the weight limit may be due to that, if this is the case, your buggered as a 7.5T M.G.W. (Max Gross Weight) limit on a bridge means anything over 7.5T must not cross it.

Post a google map location (or a postcode) so I can have a look please. :)

Which of the above is it? - I hate those signs.... :o

You know i never thought of that, there is a low bridge in one direction, but i take the other route direct to the M62. Its the 2nd sign you linked, with the mgw bit but it doesnt say weak bridge. It just says 7.5t mgw ahead in the direction of the bridge so i hope thats it heh.

apologies for the crude drawing, im not very good with paint hehe, i go the green arrow way
