Hey guys,
Since finding out that the new drivers were out i headed on over to the ATI page to download and install them. I did my usual routine of using the add/remove programs page to uninstall the old drivers (7.5) restarted my computer when told to do so, installed the new ones, but on doing so, the system hung. So i used ctrl-alt-del, to stop the installation.
Now, i checked the add/remove page to see what had been installed and to remove and start again, on doing this, the uninstaller was present again. So i chose this.
It then said something like it couldnt find everything (which makes sense as it hadnt completed its installation due to the system hang)
So i restarted my computer, as it had removed itself from the program list etc.
Now upon trying to install the drivers again, everything appeared hunky dory. I restarted my computer, thinking "ah everything will be fine". Upon seeing my desktop, it then said it couldnt locate MOM.installation (or something similar, this is all from memory)
So basically, it hadnt installed properly.
So i thought "screw this", and chose to uninstall what was there once again. (Everything appeared to be normal otherwise, the CCC shortcut on the taaskbar etc were present, but wouldnt start due to this lost MOM thingy im guessing)
Upon restarting, i thought i better defrag. After doing this, i chose to try installing my 7.5's back on, as i had no problems with them or any other drivers since i've been using computers for the last 10 years or so.
Unfortunately, it says i have another version already on my computer, but i can find no evidence of this, as i have apparently uninstalled it all
So what can i do to remove what is telling the computer that there are already drivers installed, when there clearly isnt!?
I just want my graphics card working
Any help would be very, very helpful.
thanks and sorry for the long, most likely badly typed out post!
