7 seater or minibus hire?

Anybody know of any cheaper places to hire a 7 seater or 9 seater minibus (Mercedes Vito)?

7 of us want to go skiing in France. Cheapest I have found so fat is £650 for 9 days starting 29th August. Pick up can be Manchester Airport.

Surely it would be cheaper, easier and quicker to fly and hire a car when you're there?

No actually works out around £70 per person more expensive to do it that way. We all quite like the idea of a road trip too.

Yes £650 includes 1 additional driver plus travel outside of the UK with unlimited mileage.

How are you finding hire companies that quote outside the UK online? When I was looking at this they all quote a rate and then say in the small print you must pay an extra undisclosed fee locally for cover abroad.

I've called a few and got prices of between £80-£140 to take it outside the UK from most companies. A local company to me allow you select European use and they seem to be my cheapest at the moment.

For example, holidayautos quoted me £84 extra to take the car abroad. Whereas afford rent a car add around £190ish.

I've found this company http://roofboxhire.co.uk for £75 they will fit and hire roof bars and a 580 litre roof box. I'm thinking this along with a hired MPV (C4 Grand picasso, Touran etc).

That will bring the cost down to around £425.

Can you fit roof rails and then take them off without knowing they were ever installed?
