7 volt low voltage adaptor

should i use the 7 volt low voltage adaptors that came with my Spectre Pro's 230mm and 140mm pc fans?

What exactly is it for and what are the pros and cons of such a adaptor?

Reduces the volts going to fan making it spin slower, meaning less noise.

And the cons: Less airflow.

Does your motherboard come with fan control? In that case you should be okay not using the adapters, and using the motherboards controls to keep things quiet when there is low thermal load.

Spectre pros dont need reducing in speed as they are very quiet out of the box at max RPM.
