Hey all

I have a 7 year old PSU currently in my 7 year old PC. Its a OCZ StealthXStream 700W.

There hasn't been an issue with it since installation in 2009. I am looking at getting new internals for my PC -

6600k
Z170 M/B
8Gb RAM
GTX1060 6Gb
M.2 for OS
SATA SSD for games

Looking at the power draw and the connections everything is there. Do I need a new PSU or is the one I have going to be sufficient saving me some money for a better GFX card?

However with the cost of PSU's being so low these days compared to 7 years ago when you bought it I would probably just upgrade it on the side of caution. The above poster is correct too, things are a lot more efficient these days as well, a good 500W PSU would be adequate for your needs.

Thats what I was thinking, I can get one for under £70 which doesnt add too much to the cost.

Been offered £200 for my old PC anyway so some of the cost is absorbed!
