Hi all. I have searched back a few pages so hopefully I'm not stepping on anyone's toes with this one.

I bought a 100D just after christmas, cracking little camera but as my experience as grown this last few months I now realise what lenses I think would be better for my photography style - mostly outdoors and landscapes and sport (football and motorsport)

The camera came with standard 18-55mm and 70-300mm kit lenses. I have since supplemented these with the 24mm pancake and 10-18mm wide angle. I'm perfectly happy with the 18-55mm kit lens but the 70-300 is really a sub par lens I'm now discovering.

Having browsed for the last few evenings I seem to be coming back to same couple of options:

Canon 55-250 Ef-s STM
Canon 18-200 Ef-s (this would mean I could sell both my kit lenses)

Or even the Tamron 18-270mm Di II or III - if someone can explain the difference!?

In relative terms I'm clearly still a noob so any advice on these (or alternatives) is most welcome!

Thanks for the replies. It's the EF 70-300mm I have - the mark III non IS and non STM/USM, it really is at the budget end of the scale. I imagine even the EFS 55-250 IS STM is bound to be a noticeable upgrade?
