£70 for fitting a thermostat?!

Comet wants to charge me this amount for fitting a thermostat. I see they cost about 20 quid, anyone fitted one of these before? Is it possible to do without calling an engineer? Help appreciated.

just had mine fitted cost me £40 and half the wiring was there from an old thermostat

With an attitude like that you aren't going to get much advice. There are plenty of things thermostats are used in.

Thats a normal price, cheap if anything. Labour always costs more. Do it yourself if you feel like it just dont blow yourself up
