Hey all. My C2D and 5850 are starting to creak a little and after playing a bunch of great looking games at Rezzed this weekend, and seeing as my bday is on friday, it's time for new guts :)

I have OS, sata drives, dvd drive, case, psu etc and would like an nvidia card this time round and an ssd. I have a rough idea of what to get but would appreciate some suggestions if anyone has the time.

would you consider using the 5850 initially or are you planning to sell it to fund the new purchases ?

as mentioned by stinger, what case/psu do you currently have.

what resolution do you currently game at, what monitor do you have.

The PSU is a 750w, think it's an Asus. I game at 1080p and have no plans to go higher - although my heart's half set on a 670 as i've always gone bang for buck in the past and want something that will fly this time around. The case is a Antec 300 gaming case.

Cheers.

Good plan. It's a 750w Corsair.

Quick question re. the motherboard. I have no plans for sli in the future - would it be worth saving a few pennies and picking up the:

Gigabyte Z77-DS3H Intel Z77 for £74.99

I would say no. If you can afford that motherboard, then it will overclock better. I'm not a fan of super cheap motherboards. More often than not you get what you paid for.
