I'm looking at spending around 700 (800 at a push) and i believe the sandy bridge prices have become available now so i was wondering what i should go for?

This is what a want. (I'm clueless when it comes to computer specs etc)

Only need the tower (have everything else ie mouse, speakers etc.
I don't want to build one.
a computer that will run games (mainly football manager) and other games in very very good graphical detail and will continue to do so for 3-4 years.
a computer that can easily be upgraded at a later date.

What should i be looking at? thanks.

Can i just point out a slight contradiction?

I'd say if you dont want to build it, you wont be upgrading it - unless its a very simple job of adding new HDD or replacing graphics card, which are extremely simple.

You want something like the Titan Punisher system, specced with a GTX460 768MB card:

The extra £50 spend to get the 1024Mb version IMO isnt worth it in the slightest, better to save that, then in 2+ years time use that and an extra £20-30, plus the money from selling the 460 2nd hand to buy yourself a new card, which will beat the pants off any 460 card.

still worth waiting till sunday to see what's on offer though yeah?

Its always worth taking your time to plan a build to be honest, but everyone on these forums will be able to help you come up with a good build. Take a look at the OC bundles with motherboard, CPU and RAM :) Some good value deals on there.

You could probably order everything today, though, I would think :)

This was a build I put together this week in around the same budget, but I've already purchased my case. It might be worth taking a look at the Antec 300 which is down to £45.99 for today only, however, you'll need confirmation from someone that the 470 will fit in okay.

Edit: Heres the Antec 300; http://overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-101-AN and I just checked somewhere else to see if a 470 would fit and it apperas as if it would fit with no problems.

Edit Edit: Also might be worth changing to a non-modular PSU just so you dont have a big tangly mess :P

and this (plus case) is definitely the only stuff i need? Can anyone confirm if the 470 will fit in the antec 300 ok? and that this is the best build i can get for my money?

Any chance you could do the build again (including non modular PSU and case) I'm scared i'll **** it up. then i'll know exactly what i need.

Had to change a couple of things to fit within your budget, hard drive and graphics cards being the two things.

But I'd feel more comfortable if you allowed someone else to just double check as they might be able to come up with something that is better value for money. Are you just using it as a gaming rig? Will you be doing any other tasks that require a lot of power? If its just gaming you may want to consider AMD, as they are cheaper.

Cheers CM-Sniper

I'll only be using it for gaming, browsing the web and music. (but something that will last a couple/few years before needing an upgrade)

I'll wait a couple of hours before ordering, Can anyone recommend anything better? or think i should wait till sunday?

No problem :)

In my honest opinion I'd say wait for sunday, I honestly believe its all about taking time to do the research and trying to be as future proof as possible.

Good luck dude :)

I've just realised there's no windows in the build cm-sniper has recommended either, I need everything bar speakers/mouse/monitor/keyboard
