Got a 1080 monitor, and an ATX case
Need everything else Inc windows.
It'll be for playing PUBG type stuff.

Haven't kept up with the latest chipsets etc so a bit lost with how much grunt we need.

Overclocking isn't really on the agenda so non K i5s or something

250gb Evo 860 £55
Corsair 550w PSU £40
Corsair 2x8 GB DDR4 £105

rzyen 2600 can be bought for £150 elsewhere, and PSU i'd recommend is corsair CX450M, which can be bought for £48, together with the ryzen 2600 elsewhere (do a google search :)).
total cost = £711 (you get free shipping from ocuk - so shipping not included)

CX450M part number: CP-9020101-UK

Sorry no, just throwing ideas out there for the storage, ram and PSU.
60hz,no free/G sync.

Well, Nvidia does better than equivalent AMD at PUBG.

And once you go upwards from an i3-8100 or an overclocked 3.9GHz Ryzen 2200G (which are tied in PUBG benchmarks), the lead goes to Intel, i.e. i5 v Ryzen 6-core etc. As long as you're not thinking about upgrading too much (Ryzen 3xxx CPUs expected in summer or bit after), then would go with Intel. Since not overclocking no need for beefy cooler either.

You should get free shipping.

And add:

Corsair CX450M - £47.99
Asus EX-GTX1060-06G OC Edition - £189.99

For total of £662.93.

GTX 1060 performance on PUBG at 1080p 60Hz is pretty decent and you have room to find a cheap Windows key, and to consider spending bit over budget for a GTX 1660Ti.

If you don't want to go over budget much, then Ryzen 2600 + GTX 1660Ti as in Tamzzy's spec might be the way to go, considering you don't even need a case so that cuts Tammzy's spec's cost by a further £31.99. Could even slip in 2600X because of that, not sure.

ah. well spotted. tbh, as OP doesn't need a case, a combination build will be better.

Corsair CX450M - £47.99

total = £727

well worth it i'd have thought.
only decision to make is whether to go for stronger single core i5 performance, or potential longevity with ryzen 5.

different line of though for intel + nvidia. Ditch the B360 and entry 390 board. this entry board is better then most high end z370 boards and will allow you to upgrade in future to 9700/9900k and have to see if 10nm will use the same LGA socket in the next coming months

AMD RX 580 is a place holder for pricing of GTX 1660 which im sure is 7th not 14th but dates could have been changed from last time I saw . this is 1080p 60hz capable card

Thanks guys. Interesting looking at the benchmarks that Ryzen 5 is competitive, bit of a spanner in the works with regards to the z390 offering a more reliable upgrade path.

Guess it depends me regarding now on what deals can be found.

Seems it's now 2 gens to a socket , although intel has done 2gens to a Chipset now :/

Ryzen AM4 will be 2020 with 2 generations, ryzen 1000 and 3000, 2000 and 4000 or like optimisation and speed increase. Kind of what most Intel's are but least they shrunk nodes. Only real Design difference intel did was from .1st Gen I core to 2nd, and that Zen (ryzen 1/2000) to Zen2 is (ryzen 3000/4000)
Believe DDR5 in 2020 throws a spanner in the works . If intel is smart will do a new Chipset but keep the same V2 LGA 1151 socket until DDR5 comes out. Ryzen 4000 will be interesting as that's mid way through year. I'm hoping they find a way to allow both ddr4/5 on it as AMD could beat intel to featuring new tech on boards (x570 has PCIe 4.0 before intel )

It's far more relevant if you're keen to stay atop the curve, for me in recent years it's just been getting too expensive so I'm still slumming it on x79 and DDR3. Maintains 60fps on PUBG still quite happily. Not because I can't afford it, more annoyingly because i can't justify a similar spec current gen with the costs running away like ther are. So the fact that new chips and DDR5 ate just around the corner doesn't bother me too much.
