I've been told today that I cannot get a MBP which is a big shame but I suppose I will be saving a lot of money and will be getting better bang for buck buying another laptop / building my own.

I've been looking around but I have no idea what I'm looking at really.

I prefer AMD over Intel so I would be looking for an AMD CPU.

I doesn't bother me whether there is a SSD or not but would be a bonus if there was one added.

I've got OS and Monitor so I would be needing keyboard and mouse as well.

I will be using the computer for gaming and general use i.e browsing, photoshop etc

Thanks

I think he just need to learn about reliability. Take this as advice from a 12 year old james
ps.
I'm talking about the psu
Some of the parts aren't good either like the case it's very cheap. Try to get at least a bit close to the budget as well

I've also included other things such as fans etc but I've left them out for now

Any help on changing anything would be appreciated :)

the 5850 is miles ahead of the 5770 and is there any reason you want the advanced case over the lite?

I personally would go for a SandyBridge set up if i was spending £700 but then i can never resist new bits of kit to play with :)

Might check the price difference out and may swap it :D

Just seemed the better case

I would like to go with SB but the recent flaw has put me off

Edit:

Difference between the 5770 (In my basket) and a 6850

5770:

- Core Clock: 850MHz
- Memory: 1024MB GDDR5
- Memory Clock: 4800MHz (Effective)
- Memory Bandwidth: 76.8GB/s
- Processing Cores: 800

6850:

- Core Clock: 790MHz
- Memory: 1024MB GDDR5
- Memory Clock: 4000MHz (Effective)
- Memory Bandwidth: ?
- Processing Cores: 960
