I'm currently in the process of deciding what laptop to buy. I'm looking for these characteristics..

- Between 11 and 13 inches
- Fast Processor
- Decent amount of ram (4Gig etc)
- Solid Gfx
- Very light

Hopefully, someone can recommend me a decent laptop.

thanks

If you're a student, I can highly recommend the MacBook Pro 13". You don't mention any OS requirements in your spec, but if you're happy with OSX, this laptop is on par with the Dell XPS in terms of value and will surpass it by far in terms of reliability and durability.

Believe me! i have researched and researched on the macbook, and i do agree it is perfect! BUT the only thing that holds me back is the lexibility of the OSX platform. Indeed, i could have a dual boot.

Would you mind me asking exactly what you intend to use the laptop for? Do you game?

I say you buy the Macbook, then just create a tiny dual boot partition for Football Manager and boot into windows when you want to play. For me, the advantages and peace of mind of running OSX would outweigh the slight annoyance of having to dual boot into games. And besides, it will make work procrastination just that little bit harder!

Sony CW1S1E, can be had for £650.

Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo P7450 2.13GHz
Memory: 4GB
HD Capacity: 320GB
Display: 14"
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GT 230M 512MB
Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit)

It's an excellent piece of kit with great build quality and specs for the price.

The Dell Studio 15 are going for a great price at the moment, with a Radeon 4570, and a very nice Core 2 Duo. For £700 you could get a lot of nice extras on it.

There is a thread going at the moment on it, I might pick one up next week. The deal ends today mind, but Dell just seem to cycle deals anyway so it will be back soon
