£700 PC Build

Hi guys!

One last quick check before I order all this tonight/tomorrow! Everything is in my basket but just seen there are some pretty good AMD Cards on offer right now. Do I keep the GTX 670 or switch it for something else? Also I might want to SLI/Crossfire further down the line so keep that in mind :)

If I don't reply its because i'm having internet issues right now :( will be fixed my tomorrow just incase you think i'm being rude :P

You get free delivery with the 670, while the 7950 is a little cheaper with more games, and performs notably better in Crossfire at high resolutions because of the better RAM specs.

Haha, so unsure what to go for now. Thing is I love the Corsair 540, yet I still want a good graphics card that will do me until I crossfire/SLI in the future. For the water coolers it makes me nervous putting one in yet makes the 540 build so much neater imo. What is the difference in the BenQ monitor and the iiyama one? Feedback would be appreciated. :)

The lady on the front ;)

In all seriousness, probably not a huge difference, look up reviews for any monitor your interested and see what you think suits you best.

You said the monitor could have a separate budget, if so it may be worth considering this:

Great picture quality, nice resolution, very good reviews for general and gaming use, IPS.

The only drawback is 8ms Response Time, but that compared to 2ms / 5ms is negligible in my opinion and pretty much just a marketing gimmick.

P.S. I'd much rather a decent air cooler over a refurb watercooler, as personally I'd not want to take that risk.

The 7950 is still a very good GPU, just OC to close the gap on the 7970. That's a good price for the 7970, to be honest dual GPUs will be OTT unless you have a higher res panel or 120Hz+

I used the Iiyama as it has HDMI, speakers and a longer warranty for a little more cash. There is no real right or wrong answer to what you pick a lot of it will be personal preference. If you don't want the AIO cooler then fair do's but at ~£40 it offers very good cooling for the price, I upgraded the fans but you could do that later on.

144Hz panel. The 670 is still good and knocks the P&P off. You need to add a cooler of your choice but that will take it over budget slightly depending on what you choose. This 330R can still take 240mm rad so the H100 is still an option. As the case is soundproofed swapping the H100 fans is probably less important.

I look forward to seeing what you settle on in the end bud :)

Hello,

Well...

Seems there has been a bit of a mixup between the PSU. I was told it was a Corsair CX750 and it turns out when I had a look at it that it's a XCLIO 650W. I can't seem to find and reviews on it and although it has been in a friends build for a couple of years I really don't trust putting it in my build unless anyone here has heard of them?

Anyone got any alternatives?

The Goodpower, I might have gone for but this one is a little vague in product details. And, like you, can find no other info or reviews. I would be inclined to get a new Psu, for peace of mind.

Yeah it's not worth the risk imo. Also what is this about Haswell certified power supplies should I worry if I don't buy one?
