£700 quid laptop spec please

Hey Guy,

Out of the laptop loop at bit at the moment, just looking for a 15 or 17" laptop for around 700 quid.

Best spec possible but trying to stay away from the normal pit fall makes

Whats it for? difficult to spec without knowing if you want to play games or just other uses.

For £700 you can get a Dell Studio 17 with 2.26Ghz core i5 (boost up to 2.56), ATI HD5650 graphics (latest mid range, will play most games), 2GB RAM (cheap to upgrade to 4GB yourself) and a 17.3" 1600x900 LED backlit display.

That would be for gaming, alternatively you can probably get a better CPU, more RAM and worse graphics for the same price if that's what you're looking for.

Ah cheers, its for a young lad so was just looking to see what the best around the price was, Ive seen a ASUS one with bluray i5 etc in the price range, just seeing if anythign else was around
