Ok, so my graphics card has just died and my paycheck is due in a weeks time. Perfect excuse for an upgrade!

So I'm looking to upgrade graphics card and motherboard (and any other components you guys suggest) to at least to be able to play Total War: Warhammer with a budget of approx £700 ±£100 or so. No Peripherals or OS needed.

Unfortunately, I have no idea how to go about speccing an upgrade, so your advice is greatly appreciated!

Current Specs:

VTX3D HD 7870 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (Dead)

Intel Core i5-3570K 3.40GHz (Ivybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor (77W) - OEM

Gigabyte Z77-D3H Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard

OCZ ZT 550W '80 Plus Bronze' Modular Power Supply

BitFenix Shinobi USB3.0 Gaming Case - Black

TeamGroup Elite 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C11 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit

Thermalright True Spirit 120 CPU Cooler

Thanks in advance :)

I would just buy a 980ti MSI/Evga and another 8gb memory, SSD and a better PSU (GOLD+) then overclock the Cpu. If you want to look at getting a new system I would go with the 5820k and X99.

I already have an SSD at the moment. I'd probably get the memory at a later date. Would you approve of this?

MSI GEFORCE GTX 980TI GAMING 6144MB GDDR5 PCI-EXPRESS GRAPHICS CARD (GTX 980 TI GAMING 6G): £599.99

CORSAIR HX750I 750W '80 PLUS PLATINUM DIGITAL MODULAR POWER SUPPLY (CP-9020072-UK) : £119.99

Total: £691.08
