Hey guys, im thinking about getting a second 7950 from someone whos selling one cheap just as a little new toy and a boost in fps,

question is, will my 700W tagan piperock psu be enough to power two 7950s? the rest of my spec is in my cig at the bottom, I don't have a lot of extra stuff like fan controllers etc using power, just 2 120mm fans and 2 cold cathodes.

Thanks :)

Barely. If everything is stock then yes.

650w is about the lowest people "should" get away with, 750w is the recommendation.

For safety go 850w

Okay thanks guys, and yeah If I get another 7950, there wont be any need for overclocking the cards they would be running stock. :)

my psu has 4x 12v rails, just been looking in the book, combined power of 560w and 140w for the mobo/cpu.

This psu only comes with one 8pin and 6pin pci leads, but iv got a 8 pin and 6 pin adapter which uses two molex's, and my psu comes with two leads with molex's on, two leads with hdd power adaptors on, so I was thinking of taking the two molex leads and using one each for the adapters to pci leads so that theres definitely enough power going to the card?

:) if it doesn't work wouldn't be the end of the world lol, would just have to grab a new psu

Also a little off topic, just taken my 7950 out for the first time since launch when I bought it, and jesus Christ the dust inside the fans was horrendous!, it always runs cool, 40c idle and 75c in games overclocked on stock cooler, that's just dropped to 32c idle and 70c load!

UGuru recommend 700w for crossfire 7950 gpu's.

Indeed see how you get on, I prefer to use direct PCI-E power cables than using Molex to PCI-E adapters.

You could always buy one of these:
