I am considering upgrading my cpu as I do a lot of multitasking and abit of encoding now and my current 4850e can't cut it.. I have the option of using a DS2R or GA-MA78GM-S2H motherboard.

As the 720BE is newer tech how would it cut it against a Q6600 both at stock and overclocked??

Well if I got a Q6600 it would be used, probably from MM and the 720 would be a new one as it's on TWO this week.

Don't think my MA78GM-S2H will support 4th core unlocking as it's SB700 southbridge but suppose it's a possibilty if I decide to get a new MB down the line..

I am slightly pulling to the 720 route as the MA78GM-S2H has better connections (hdmi, dvi, etc)
