720p or 1080i?

The majority of HDTVs are 1366*768 so that's your theory chucked cleanly out of the window. They should in theory be able to take 720p, 1080i and 1080p signals and scale them appropriately to fit on the screen.

Thats exactly my point... So is the xbox outputting that res when on 720 p? Or is it outputting 1280x720 ... and upsclaing it? Meaning the its not at the native resolution.. meaning it wont look as good as it could.

Also if you connect a 360 via VGA? u cant select 1366x768... but you can select 1360x768 .. ?? What happened to those extra 6 pixels?

Things just dont add up or make sense.

either your TV will stretch the picture to fit, or there will be black bars (for what happens to the extra pixels)

Oddly enough the 360 plays games at 480p but slap in a DVD on the 480p setting and it displays 576p I know this because my TV does 480p but not 576p and I have to watch DVDs interlaced.

I have obviously not seen if the 360 upscales/upconverts (not sure which it does) dvds to 720p or above.
