720p playback on MacBook/MacBook Pro1

Hey all,

just wondering if anyone has tryed 720p playback on either of the MacBook's does the quality look nice as im thinking of getting a macbook and would liek to watch 720p movies whilst travelling

I'd say they play great on the MBP, but it would probably depend on the amount of RAM in the MB (as it doesn't have a dedicated graphics card).. I could be wrong though.

I know 1080P works flawlessly on my MBP though

720p plays fine on Macbook, I've never tried 1080p. 13" screen won't do justice to 720p but it will still look better than DVD.

MacBooks have 1280 x 800 screens dont they? thats just above the 720p resolution so it should look ince specially on a small 13" screen

They'll look better on the 13" screen as the resolution is almost spot on for it (1280 x 720 on a 1280 x 800 screen).

MacBooks with 2GB RAM can definitely handle 1080p, although i've had a few things running in the background a couple of times and noticed an occasion slowdown in the video.

But for 720p it works beautifully
