720p stuttering?

I have the rig in sig hooked up to my Panasonic TX32LMD70, but I have noticed some odd goings on when watching 720p content.

Normal videos play fine, but I get microstutter on 720p stuff, especially noticeable on long, panning/scrolling shots, like landscape flyovers in Planet Earth.

The same output on my 22" V7 monitor plays smooth as silk, so I am confused as to why this is happening on the TV.

Would using a budget DVI-HDMI cable cause this?

Or something to do with having the TV as a secondary display?

Any help appreciated!

First thing I would try is using the TV as the primary display. Cable should not be an issue. For completeness, I'd aslo move the cable to the primary DVI port as well.

When doing this, make sure that the primary display is set for 720p at a compatible refresh rate for the TV.

Have a bash at that and at least you can eliminate and move on.

Typically you will always get stuttering to some degree when playing video on a PC. The reason is the frame rate of the video generally isnt the framerate of your monitor.
