I'm building up a small gaming PC for use with my 720p Plasma (Native 768 I think). It's mainly going to replace my PS3 as the media center - so streaming movies and playing cross platform games, and i'd like it to play everything that would use a gamepad at 720p @ steady 50fps. I know a lot of PC versions coming up have higher quality textures and can push past 1GB RAM so that's probably my minimum; but the pixel throughput doesn't need to be so high although i'd like to run lots of AA.

Ideally i'm looking for something that can spit out via HDMI and put the sound down that cable - but can cope with DVI & a separate audio cable. I'm inclined to go with a 560TI (which I know is MASSIVE overkill, but will last me a couple of years). What are the alternatives - i'm thinking 6850 and maybe as low as a 550. It should probably be quietish when playing movies and low idle power.

I'm probably going to go with a Rampage Gene motherboard / i5 2500k - so some of the motherboard features for sleeping the gfx card for day to day use could possibly be used.

Suggestions?

I plumped for the OCUK 560 on special this week, £10 more - but it comes with Arkham Asylum (which I would be buying anyway), compared to Deus Ex on the ATI (which I already own). Jobs a good un.
