7300 GT DDR2/DDR3 question

Have a quick question, does the GDDR3 version of the 7300 GT outperform the DDR2 version by much? I have no clue about the performance of todays graphics cards.

The reason I ask is I have no graphics card right now (apart from onboard), and I can get a DDR2 one tomorrow, but have to wait a week for the GDDR3. I'm impatient I know.

Quick example.

OcUK GeForce 7300 GT 256MB GDDR3 HDTV/DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (GX-040-OK)

- GeForce 7300 GT Core running at 500MHz
- 256MB GDDR3 Extreme Memory running at 1200MHz
- 8 Pixel Pipelines
- SLI ready – Delivering upto 2x the performance
- Shader Model 3.0 Support

Over this, which is the equivalent of what I could get tomorrow.

BFG GeForce 7300 GT OC 256MB DDR2 HDTV/DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (GX-032-BG)

- NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT Core running at 375Mhz
- High Speed 256MB DDR2 Memory running at 700Mhz
- 2.2 Pixels Fill Rate

Would there be a huge performance boost? This rig is soley used for gaming, NWN2/WoW/Oblivion/Dark Messiah etc etc.

Sorry for the possible newbie question, all these numbers confuse me. Especially when they are around the same price. :p

The 7300GT GDDR3 not only has GDDR3 memory to its advantage but also has 8 pixel pipes instead of the normal 4 on the 7300GS and 7300GT DDR2 models.

Although some write ups are not clear exactly what model you are buying.

I am in agreement with cyber-mav, wait for the GDDR3 model.

Thanks for the advice guys.

Another quickie. My motherboard supports "One PCI Express x16 graphics", is the "OcUK GeForce 7300 GT 256MB GDDR3 HDTV/DVI (PCI-Express)" x16? Probably a silly question but i'd like to know before I press confirm. :p
