7300GS better than a Ti4200?

Hiya ppl!

Currently have a Ti4200 128MB in my PC which I wont be able to put in my new rig as it has no AGP, would the 7300GS be much better than the Ti4200?

Also why is it that the 7300GT has a slower core clock speed, would it still be quicker than a GS? its more expensive and im gusssing thats because its 128 not 64bit?

7300gs probably has 64bit memory interface so it will be crippled and be around the same speed as the ti4200.

if you on pci-e and on a budget then try and stretch to the 7300gt thats around 55quid on here. you won;t regret it. its gonna be around 3 times faster than your ti4200.

i know my 7600gs agp is easily 3 times faster than the ti4200 i had and around 70-110% faster than the 9800pro i replaced it with. biggest difference seen in doom 3, and smallest difference seen in marvel ultimate alliance. (smallest difference being 70% faster than the 9800pro)

go for the 7300GT, they have been clocked to 7600GS performance levels with quite abit of ease.

Its the DDR3 versions which are the good performers/clockers.

check first, if the 7300gs has a 128bit memory interface. then its gonna be better than the ti4200 any day.

I have the 7300GS , sad i know but im upgrading soon , all i can say is that for the prive of the 7300 range they are bloody good graphics cards, they keep up with most games , even if they dont do it spectacularly. Anyways, i think you will be pleasently surprised

yea 7300gs has 4 pipes but if its 128bit memory interface version then it will be not too shabby in older stuff. my 6200 64bit mem interface card runs battlefield 2 shockingly well at 1024x768 although most of the stuff is turned down but texture quality and terrain quality is set to max so it still looks ok.
