£750 for photo editing, some gaming :)

Hi guys great site could I be given a spec list for a base unit to use with my lp2475w monitor. it will be used for photoshop/lightroom but will also be doing some video editing (sony vegas). I'm not too bothered about gaming but am hoping for the money I'll at least be able to play games at mid to high settings. Only need 1tb hd as have a couple already. Looking at ssd for os and programs. Thanks in advance for looking.

So just out of interest, say I want to play crysis on this set up am I looking at playing it full spec or can anyone give me an idea based on another game. Thanks I know I said it's mainly for editing but just want to get an idea on gaming. Thanks again.

With crysis and a 5770, this is the performance you can expect (green bars for 1920x1200 res).

In most other modern games, expect the framerates to be even higher. In most games you will be able to get very playable framerates, at 1920x1200, high settings - so long as you turn AA/AF down or off.
