Basically, I've got £750 for an upgrade as the title suggests, I'm looking for opinions on what I've got in my basket, are there any changes that you would make?

I've got;
PSU - OCZ GameXtreme 700w
GPU - XFX Radeon HD4850 512mb
Keyboard - Saitek Cyborg
Mouse - Diamondback 3G
Monitor - Samsung Syncmaster 2053BW (20")

My old specs are in my sig, and that's what I'm upgrading on, I will how ever be keeping the components I've got, for a secondary PC, which I will in time get running again.

The reason I've gone for Vista64 Basic is because I've been told that Premium and Ultimate are only different because they contain programs that I won't really use, I do like to mess around with media, but I already have Sony Vegas, After effects etc. If I've been told wrong, could you tell me the difference between the 3 versions of the O/S please =]

Edit; I've also previously owned Asus, Abit, Gigabyte, MSI and other assorted motherboard, but thought I'll give DFI Lanparty a try, as they're a make I've not used before, but heard very good things from.

Oh and I like to play games =] I don't really use my PC for anything else.

Spending all that money but can't stump up another 15 quid for home premium?

Click here to compare different versions of vista ;)

...

I said I'm getting basic because apparently it's only £15 more for programs I'll never use... That's like buying a car, then never driving it... Yeah sure, it's not exactly the same price range, a Car and Windows Vista.. But it's the same principle.. If you'd explained it to me rather than deciding to be "clever" and attempting the make me look the fool, when I clearly know how to use google. It's just easier to ask someone rather than doing research, and perhaps getting redirected to website that's not secure.

Not trying to make you look like a fool for heavens sake??

But to be fair it's not exactly rocket science finding out what the differences are between different versions of vista, it's easier to give you a link than to copy and paste or type it all out myself

So here you go, seeing as you didn't like my previous link, type into google "versions of vista" click the top link and there you will find out everything you need to know, see simple :rolleyes:
