Hi guys, looking to update my old 2.2 Athlon system on a £750 budget. basically binning everything inside the tower (CMStacker101) except the PSU (CM GX 750W '80 Plus' - which should be man enough IMO) and a couple of SATA drives.

New bits and bobs must be quick(ish), upto date, ultra reliable and able to run BF3 ~ hopefully should last me a couple of yrs or so.

Having had a poke around on the forums and reading a lot of recommendations/reviews, I've come up with a shopping basket full of stuff that just about keeps me on budget but if you experts would like to cast your beady eyes over said list and lmk if I should change anything before I hit the "buy" button, that'd be great :)

Cheers in advance :)

Very similar to what i built and im very happy. I would suggest saving a little bit more though and getting a bigger SSD, 60gb just isnt big enough for top 5 games and page file.

Also, ask about the SSD make, OCZ are full of fail so i had to change to Intel. Not sure about Crucial?

With 8 gig you dont need to run a page file for normal and gaming use. Also dont store 5 top games on the ssd and you will be fine. Just the one or two your playing most.

Youu can get g-skill ripjawX 8 gig 1600mhz kits for less than the vengence £48 this week only. Good solid ram.

Otherwise a solid choise of kit there :)

Cheers guys, I'm planning on using the ssd mainly as a system drive as I don't play that many games, would love to but just don't have the time tbh, 2-3 games installed would be my max at any given time (probs bf3 plus the two that come with the g/card) so I figured that 60GB would be plenty for my uses... only downside I can see with the Crucial is the (listed) slower write speed vs the competitors but as I understand it, there's a new firmware that moves the goalposts slightly?

Ripjaw vs Vengeance? .. look into that is next port-of-call ..

Cheers guys, keep 'em coming :)
