750 versus 850W PSU

Is there any advantage to getting a surplus to requirements PSU?

If I know even with future add-ons like a new GPU that a 750W would be more than enough, is there any advantage to paying £50 more
for an 850W?

Does a 850W draw more electricity / increase my bill, even if they are plugged into the same system?

Could be worth it if PSU's are different makes, or is a higher end model for the sake of the Warranty, say 10 years instead of 7 years.

Technically yes, but only in some instances. All depends what you’re doing with the system. Assuming 750 watts is enough and you’re not pushing the PSU to edge for 12 hours every day, then probably not.

Unless you use >550W TDP video card, like RTX 5090, or ridiculously hungry processor you don't need 850W. Previously there was a need to buy bigger PSUs to handle transient power usage from GPUs, but not anymore: with ATX 3.0 spec any compliant PSU can deliver 200% of rated power for short periods.
