There isa 750ti and a 650ti for sale both £70.

for the boy to game at 1080 what would be best and are they worth £70.
to start with his game will need low GPU power but i would think as he get on the games will become more GPU intensive

Yep, 750ti is the better card. Got a 650ti boost here and its a bit poor tbh.

Some much more powerful gpus second hand to be had for 70quid. You might get a gtx 660/670 or Radeon 7850/7870.

Its comparable to a GTX480 so it's not too bad if your son is going to be playing less graphically intense games you could get away with 1080p med/high settings.

Yes its a great little cheap gaming card and runs cool and quiet. After all its based on the Maxwell CPU.

My brother had one and it traded blows with an AMD 7850 (270)

It easily copes with 1080p, without any AA you can even turn up most of the settings.
