Hello
I cant decide whenever i should get a power supply for £95 which is 750W or one that is 115 and its 850W ?

My specs are :

Asus z87 A
i5 4670K (not overclocked but im thinking about it) + Noctua d14
sapphire r9 280x toxic
corsair vengeance LP 8gb ram
WD blue 1TB
Cooler Master 690 III

I just dont know whenever that £20 is worth it or not ?
I dont think i will ever cross fire(too expensive+the electricity bill :P) and i will add an SSD soon and maybe an extra hard drive and fans ( my current fans are cm megaflow ,sickle flow and the stock noctua fans that come with the d14)
and im thinking about adding 2 more fans to exhaust the heat at the top im thinking about getting the corsair 120mm quiet edition ones but im not too sure , also if i got the 750W psu i would have enough for 2 corsair fans instead of just one 850W psu.
So my question is will i ever need a higher wattage psu than 750w or would that just be a waste of money ?

PSU's that i might be getting are from the corsair rm series .

Thanks

Not hijacking op's thread but was wondering if my system could take another 780? currently have a XFX 750W which is two years old.

Agree with the others. A quality 450w unit would do the job but 550w gives a decent amount of headroom. I will check tomorrow and see how much i am pulling at the wall. I doubt if it's more than 350w if that. The Seasonic G series are excellent and super quiet.

Ah yeah forgot to mention i will be changing mobo as well :) but at least i don't need to buy another PSU.

Righty ho, did some testing and got the following:-

Idle 142w (cpu voltage no longer drops at idle since i flashed the mobo's bios )
Linx 267w
Heaven 384w
Furmark 437w
Linx and Furmark together 521w

Not playing any demanding games at the moment but i reckon gaming would come in around Heaven/Furmark wattage.

Spec in siggy plus these totals also include 1x 120mm, 1x 140mm, 1x 180mm, 1x 200mm fans in the case, seperate 150w psu for the watercooling side with 2x pumps and 6x 120x38mm 0.30A Yate Loon fans.
